Today's note - Home Work

EU Stress Test Criteria Were Not Realistic, Roubini Says

It is definitly an amasing thing.... Last night, listening to the radio, a french university teacher, a financial specialist, to explain the EU stress test were designed to check if a new crisis, Lehman style, was to occur knowing the states and public powers had shot all their amunitions and were no more in a situation to intervene the way they did, would the financial system endure a new shock of this scale.
That said, Common Sense leads to conclude, well, any bank that needed some form of bail out when the Lehman crisis surged is in need of more capital to face the next one, should a new one to show up, to at least be in the same situation it was when the state offered the needed capital it borrowed to face the crisis, the "state" being in a situation it can't no more do what it did then, its sovereign debt level preventing a new bail out of that scale?
Agree or disagree and Explain.
Knowing that among the EU banks in need of a bail out to face the 2008 financial crisis, the french bank BPCE has not been able since to repay the loan it then received, has not in anyway raised its capital or improved its balance sheet and has surprisingly passed the stress test, what does it tell you of the stress test worse scenario retained?
Explain.

UPDATE 4-GDF Suez in fresh tie-up talks with Intl Power
Last but not least, the end energy consumer in Australia will not willingly participate in the funding of the french state sponsored ponzi retirement system... almost into bankrupcy... adding a few cents to his utility bill... GDF has still to show the money for its liabilities towards the hundreds of thousands of french retirees and current employees....?? Failing to do so, I'm afraid, will jeopardise the deal... I will oppose it as a share holder! Not to mention, having the french state on the board isn't exactly what one can dream of... a rogue state still engaged in a fight against its minorities cultures, languages... and refuses to sigh the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages .

Very unfortunate... but immigration policies to fight the Small Nations Cultures, Languages and Right to a Land is wrong doing whatsoever,... no good excuse, I don't know, it is unfortunate for sure but is responsible those engaged in the fight against the Small Nations rights. They will rise because they have nowhere else to go.

French president to appear on national television
Amasing France.... Sarky is due to appear on tv, in the midst of the worse economic crisis since WW2, monday night, following a crazy week, to speak of the crasy state spending, the near the cliff's hedge France's numerous deficits...., the unemployment level for several decades that have ruined the "nanny" state.... the several won awards for the unrivaled world taxes misery title.... NO, a rich french lady ( a shameful situtation...I guess) has been generous according to her former accountant towards some moneyless hands out politicians queuing up her chic dinners... in the mean time... almost 1 million euros of tax payer's money has vanished somewhere near the city of Marseille funding some estranged non profit (no kidding) organisations (no wonder Uncle Sam wanted bank accounts details, woudln't be surprised to find out weird extremist islamic support in there) Sarky to do some explaining too.... hopefully....
The extended use of the Spanish football team for other purposes than the game and the great spirit of Sport may backlash severely. Throughout the passed few days, the Spanish team is now used in the hands of the wrong people for the wrong reasons as a weapon verses the Catalans to oppose Cataluna reunification spirit. It is not just wrong, it's stupid, it will backlash whatever the final result is (look at france...), it will be a matter of months, at the best a couple of years.... Politics in Sports is wrong, it is a sign of weakness and it won't abuse on the long term anybody, Cataluna is a nation, that's history, just like Breizh, Euskal Herria or Galixa, the sooner their rights to self governement are handed back to them, the better, they don't just deserve it, they are entitled to it.

At least since Eric 93 spoke we now know the accountant said some truth.... "Quand l'un des leurs a eu des problèmes, nous, on a pas fait les charognards", I'd translate that like that... (Louise, be good, I can't just watch you even I'd love to... the program chases key words)... Eric l'Enveloppe is no more guilty than Henri was, that's what we thought at the time, so we didn't shoot, I mean right? Wouldn't you get it that way?
Meaning, Eric is also no less guilty than Henri was when in the same situation even if we all agreed at the time, there was no personal advantage involved at least regarding Henri's situation who had no one hired on the way?
You guys didn't see that one (yesterday?)

Can France keep a retirement system ponzi like financed much longer without lowering the pensions? The ponzi like funding seen much "safer" when opposed to the "dangerous anglosaxon" funding show now its true face with record deficits as both jobs and growth vanes.
Are current pensions at risk should the economy experienced an extended period of slow growth and high unemployment? With cautious investors on the rise and a shrinking low cost supply to fund sovereign deficits, the answer may be ?

Bon !

IT STINKS! How long can this be tolerable ?

Corsicans, People of Euskadi, Breizh have no rights, their language, culture and economic interests and otherwise are regularly easy targets of the ugly french jacobin various state organisations and politicians.

Are things now getting out of hands? For years now, OTC stocks have been sold to ordinary ederlies for a savings account by a "state" bank almost bankrupt now with no intervention at all from the justice system and any regulatory body....

An old lady, rich, who happened to be ill advised, it seems, was discovered having one or two bank accounts in Switzerland representing 0.52% of her entire fortune. She has been paying for her entire life her taxes to the french state knowing that most of her revenues are from a large stake in a worlwide known company, a revenue impossible to cheat on.
For a few years now, one or two bank accounts in Switzerland representing 0.52% of her assets known of the french state were not appropriately declared to the french IRS it seems.... Guess what they do and say? While they do nothing for the thousands of bank customers cheated on by a "state bank", they plan a criminal investigation of the rich lady accusing her of money laundering and fraud, nothing less.... The use of the justice system into what appear to be a political game caracterise a rogue state. If the Corsican, Euskadi, Breizh and a few others defenseless small cultures and people keep being the target of a state administration otherwise involved in the use of regulatory rules and bodies to spoil on one side ordinary ederlies, left to die by the thousands from a hot summer a few years ago, while on the other hand use the same bodies and regulatory rules to entertain some of the worse instincts during challenging times for any ordinary citizen, poorly and partially informed of the fiscal situation of one citizen, may be the time has come for Congress and other Democracies to end the joke and step in..?

Treasury Two-Year Yield Drops to Record Low on U.S. Jobs, China

What should you do next week? Keep doing your homework. You aren't trading the trend, you aren't buying or not buying the President's policies but buying stocks of a company that makes or sells products or services in a challenging market in no less challenging times, but because you carefully selected the companies you're invested in and because your stock allocation has been carefully set to allow your portfolio to add a set of diversified assets classes, you keep watching the market for bargains with in mind it isn't the right time to be fully invested.

Today's note

VAT raise, hadn't had any good news of that scale for a long time, have they finally got to their senses...? Never know, they might... The sooner, the better.
Political Arena Circus is back on... again..., I guess so.... On one side we have dummies unable it seems to think of how bad it will look to be at the same time in charge of political and campaign fund raising while being Treasury Secretary.... when transparency of donators aren't public enough...? Has anyone dared to pretend President Obama has made decision to favor Warren, a contributor to his campaign...? Ridiculous.... but the all thing looks bad because it wasn't public enough...., eventually worse, can you hire my wife stuff....proves a lack of vision? Eric to my desk, you had been warned after the poor homework you did on interest rates....!
On the other side, we have another bench literally dishonest riding the poor economic education most of french citizens receive knowing the french treasury secretary has whatsoever no power to prevent or stop any investigation into Mrs Bettencourt assets and revenues and therefore could not be paid for doing so. Mrs Bettencourt revenues are well known and don't need any investigation to be evaluated as for the most part they are dividends from a well known company on the stock market and therefore it may take about 15 minutes to check if her tax return was accurately filed....
Big deal, the lady has or had a bank account she shouldn't have in Switzerland.... Let's wait to find out how much she might have had there compared to her assets on her tax return to find out if she indeed was intensively tax evading or if it was the result of both a lack of smart counselling and a difficult family situation....
Indeed, there is nothing to justify a corruption accusation and it is wrong to use that type of argument from people that should be working to promote a better understanding of economics. On both sides.... They don't have much to say about deficits, obsolete retirement system that need to drastically change, what was an answer to an after war and economic situation allowed the first generation to retire more than 60 years ago is today a threat to the economy and doesn't answer to nowdays challenges of sustainable development and funding.
No kidding, Socgen's trader trial ended a few days ago as we learn this morning his superior is fined for insider trading, a decision the french SEC took.... No wonder the guy was busy enough on his own to be unable to do his job of supervising the trading desk, I guess?
When I say cut spending why do they understand raise taxes? Weird.
