TRIPOLI, Feb 9 (Reuters) - A writer who called for peaceful mass protests in Libya like those in Tunisia and Egypt has been arrested on the pretext of an alleged car accident, Amnesty International said.

Qaddhafi Takes Steps To Prevent Unrest In Libya
Libyan Leader Mu'ammar Qaddhafi has threatened to punish the media in his country if they take steps that generate anarchy like that in Egypt and Tunisia.
He expressed concern and anger at events in Egypt.
Qaddhafi's statements were in response to calls spread by the Libyan opposition on the internet for a "Day of Rage" on June 17.
