Why ... told u that before. French nationalism as I understand it finds its source in the mind confusion gov policies of standardisation lead to. Britishness is a unionism and that is I think fundamental when u want to understand how political extremism has a potential to spread in France.
Not as far as I know. His example is I think quite typical, ask him but he will tell u he's a Scott nationalist and more Scott and nationalist than he is I think is impossible but he will tell u he's also a fervent British unionist as he sees it as the most profitable situation for Scotland which is what he stands for in the first place.
The French don't understand that..... ie under the pretense of "republican principles" Corsicans or anybody else aren't Corsicans but mankind so the next step is it is alright to pretend the Corsicans do not have rights to organise themselves as a Nation and act to protect their interests and homeland.
Policies of standardisation lead to confusion through education and deprived of their culture, language and history, it is my idea of it, ready people at times of harship to pay attention to extreme discourse, a lot more than what u can see with Unionism of Nations.
